We’re so glad you chose Ward Veterinary Services to care for your pet. Whether you’re bringing in a brand-new puppy, a senior rescue, or a longtime companion, our goal is to make your first visit as smooth, welcoming, and informative as possible.
Here’s everything you need to know to prepare:
What to Bring
To help us provide the best care possible, please bring the following items with you:
· Your pet’s medical and vaccination history
(we’re happy to request records for you!)
· A list of medications or supplements your pet is
currently taking
· Any questions or concerns you want to discuss
with the doctor
· A completed New Patient Form - Download PDF
What Happens During the Visit
During your first appointment, we’ll take time to get to know both you and your pet. We’ll perform a full nose-to-tail exam, discuss any current concerns, and review your pet’s medical history. From there, we’ll make personalized recommendations for preventive care, diagnostics, vaccinations, nutrition, or treatment if needed.
We’ll also go over our wellness plans, vaccine schedules, and answer any questions you may have—so you leave confident and informed.
Tips for a Low-Stress Visit
We want every visit to be a positive one. Here are a few ways to help your pet feel more at ease:
Bring your dog on a leash or your cat in a secure carrier
If your pet gets anxious in the car or vet clinic, let us know ahead of time—we’re happy to help
Bring your pet’s favorite treat or toy to create a positive association
Try to avoid feeding your pet a large meal right before the visit
